These Terms and Conditions govern the services provided by Steady Steps – SEND & Disability Support.
By engaging with Steady Steps, you agree to these terms.
Steady Steps provides SEND advocacy, guidance, and support to parents and families navigating education systems, including EHCP processes, school communication, and related services.
Advocacy is an unregulated profession; however, services are delivered based on professional experience, training, and best practice.
2. Services & Scope
Steady Steps provides SEND advocacy, guidance, and support services, which may include:
- Support with EHCP applications, reviews, and amendments
- Guidance on DLA, PIP, and related applications
- Support in understanding professional reports and documentation
- Communication support with schools, local authorities, and other services
- Attendance at meetings where agreed
- General advice and guidance based on experience
All services are tailored to individual needs and agreed with the client in advance.
Steady Steps provides guidance based on professional experience and knowledge of SEND processes. Services do not constitute legal advice.
3. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and complete information
- Sharing relevant documentation in a timely manner
- Engaging respectfully in communication
- Making informed decisions based on the guidance provided
Steady Steps cannot be held responsible for delays or outcomes where incomplete or inaccurate information is provided.
4. Communication & Conduct
Steady Steps aims to maintain professional, respectful, and constructive communication at all times.
While advocacy may involve challenging decisions made by schools or local authorities, this is done in a professional and measured manner.
Clients agree to engage respectfully. Steady Steps reserves the right to withdraw services if communication becomes abusive, unreasonable, or inappropriate.
5. Fees & Payments
Where services are provided on a paid basis:
- Fees will be clearly outlined and agreed in advance
- Payment terms will be communicated prior to work commencing
- Work may not begin until payment is received, unless otherwise agreed
Fees are non-refundable once work has commenced, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
6. Confidentiality
All information shared with Steady Steps is treated as confidential.
Sensitive information, particularly relating to children and individuals with disabilities, will be handled with care and respect.
Information will not be shared with third parties without consent, unless required by law.
7. Data Protection
Steady Steps is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and complies with UK GDPR.
Personal data is collected and processed in line with the Privacy Policy and is used only for the purpose of providing services.
8. Limitation of Liability
Steady Steps provides guidance and advocacy based on experience and knowledge of SEND processes.
Outcomes of applications, decisions made by local authorities, schools, or tribunals cannot be guaranteed.
Steady Steps will not be held liable for decisions made by third parties or for outcomes outside of its control.
9. Safeguarding
Steady Steps is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable individuals.
If any safeguarding concerns arise, appropriate action may be taken in line with safeguarding responsibilities and legal obligations.
10. Termination of Services
Steady Steps reserves the right to terminate services where:
- Terms and conditions are not respected
- Communication becomes inappropriate or abusive
- There is a breakdown in working relationship
Clients may also terminate services at any time, subject to any agreed payment terms.

These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time.
